Sustainable travel is used here to mean travel which takes into account not only the type or mode of transport (Sustainable transportation), but also reducing the need to travel. For individuals there may be times when it is not necessary to travel at all, but for the community or society as a whole of course people still travel. There are links with other ideas such as a One planet lifestyle.
