Some information about sustainability topics is already available in Wikipedia. The aim here is not to duplicate, but rather build on whatever may be already available to produce content more geared toward sustainability and in particular sustainable community action.
The information here, in SCA Wiki, differs from that in Wikipedia in some important respects.
[edit] Comment and networking welcome
Firstly this is a site which as well as being an information store is also a community for anyone interested in sustainability and sustainable community action. As such a community we can be much freer about the inclusion of anything to do with the social networking aspect of the site. For example there is a Comment category, and more discussion about sustainability topics and concerns is likely here than in Wikipedia.
[edit] About 'Neutral Point of View', NPOV
The material here starts form the implicit assumption that sustainability and sustainable community action are good things. Articles do not have to adopt neutrality with regard to this basic underlying assumption.
[edit] Valuing summary information
"Encyclopedic" material is OK here but preferably should be reasonably brief and succinct - consider summaries for here, extensive and exhaustive detail may be better in Wikipedia - and of course should be relevant to the purposes of SCA wiki.
This is only a preliminary comment on how SCA wiki material differs from that in WIkipedia, and is likely to evolve (and be improved) over time. For example it may likely, or possible at least, that 'sustainability' here covers a much wider spectrum of content (than in Wikipedia where some stuff might get 'filed' elsewhere) so leading to a different kind of integrated whole.
