London Borough of Croydon

The London Borough of Croydon is a London borough in South London, England and is part of Outer London. It covers an area of 87 km2 (33.6 sq mi) and is the largest London borough by population. It is the southernmost borough of London.[edit] Places, projects and networks

Croydon is on one of the Connect2 schemes which are part of the National Cycle Network route running around Croydon. The North Downs, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty popular with both on- and off-road cyclists, is so close to Croydon that part of the park lies within the borough boundary, and there are routes into the park almost from the civic centre.
Since 2003 Croydon has been certified as a Fairtrade borough by the Fairtrade Foundation. It was the first London Borough to have Fairtrade status

The light rail system TramlinkW (Operated by Tramtrack Croydon, a wholly owned subsidy of Transport for London), opened in 2000, serves the borough and surrounding areas.
The area is currently going through a large regeneration project called Croydon Vision 2020W which is predicted to attract more businesses and tourists to the area as well as backing Croydon's bid to become London's Third City.
