Local ACTION 21 is an initiative signed up to by UK government at the World Summit for Sustainable Development, 2002 in Johannesburg. Local ACTION 21 was intended as a follow-on from Local Agenda 21, and described as a world wide movement to encourage local sustainability and move from agenda to ACTION. Within the UK the initiative does not to date (June 2005) seem to have been widely taken up
