(draft for email to James Robertson)

Hi James,

I see your newsletter via email from Eric Britton. Re shifting policy on work, "...away from pushing people into dependence on jobs with employers (very wasteful in terms of commuting, duplication of buildings, energy use and other facilities at workplaces, not to mention its negative impact on many people’s perceptions of the purposes and impacts of their work); to encouraging more self-organised work on meeting the needs of oneself, one’s family and neighbours and local community."

This seems very much in tune with something I've been trying to develop for the past 3 and a bit years: Sustainable Community Action wiki (http://sca21.wikia.com) and specifically sections with titles such as Economic wellbeing, Towards Sustainable Economies, Rewarding work, etc. Content is available under a copyleft type licence (GFDL).

I wonder if you might have any ideas or advice as to how these (comparatively underdeveloped) sections of the wiki could be improved? Do you think it's the case that much writing or advocacy about 'shifting policy on work' tends to be under conventional copyright licensing which maybe limits it's capacity to be spread about more widely and be more in tune with "encouraging more self-organised work"?

It'd be great to hear from you either now or in the future as and when you might have any ideas how to develop the economic wellbeing section of the wiki (I often hear people interested in sustainability say things like "I wish I understood economics a little better", or "I wish there were more plain English guides to economics")

I'm copying this email to one of the forums on the wiki, and of course you're very welcome to edit the wiki directly yourself if you would like to.
