Just in case any signed in user not aware of this, when you sign in you can change the skin you'll have when signed in, via your preferences. I particularly like Quartzsmoke and have selected this. (I like the way 'our' bit appears higher up the screen). You can also preview the options. Philralph 07:37, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

I notice there's now an admin option to set the default theme for this wiki, so I propose to set this to Quartzsmoke. Leave a note below if you've any comments re this.
I suppose one of the main reasons I'd like to do this, is that I personally don't like the flashing ads (and sometimes highly inappropriate ads for a wiki on this subject) that sometimes come up with MonoBook, and it would be much better if unsigned in users didn't have to see these. --velojef 08:51, 22 October 2007 (UTC) Wikia new skin is really full of ads and intrusive, don't really like that ! grrrrrrr ......

Ta for feedback. I've changed it back for now Philralph 10:08, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

--velojef 10:57, 22 October 2007 (UTC) Ouf ! tanks a lot Philralph ! Monobook, as default, as on wikipedia, with some google ads (text) & 2 wikia spotlight (icon) only at right on screen it's ok. I think most of our lambda users can ignore it !

But Quartzsmoke skin as default, mix ads and our contents ! So I think this would be big confusing for our readers. More!, the kind of ads are really different (country oriented, language oriented, big graphic pub, specially out of context -Bart Simpson ring tones -USA green card -etc ....). .... Me & my friends can't work with this kind of really intrusive ads. The less ads as possible, the look as the wellknown wikipedia monobookskin is the best default for lambda readers. Yet thanks a lot for the change.
