Bedfordshire

Bedfordshire is a county in England that forms part of the East of England region.
Its county town is Bedford. It borders Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire (with the Borough of Milton Keynes) and Hertfordshire.

[edit] Marston Vale and New Marston
Shortlisted location for an Eco town. Up to 15,400 homes on a series of sites, including former industrial sites, along the east-west rail line to Stewartby and Millbrook. The scheme could include 2,000 affordable homes in an area of high affordability pressure. The New Marston proposal in Bedfordshire has been withdrawn, but the rival Marston Vale proposal remains on the shortlist, July 24 [1]

[edit] Waterways in the United Kingdom
The River Great Ouse links Bedfordshire to the Fenland waterways. As of 2004 there are plans to construct a canal linking the Great Ouse at Bedford to the Grand Union Canal at Milton Keynes, 23 km distant.[2]
